Senior Project Manager
Based Head Office, S*W London Hours of work Monday - Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm Reporting to Main Board Director
Overall accountability The management of a leading HVAC Maintenance contractors project management division. Currently the division achieves a turnover of Ј12m pa Nationally with London Region alone contributing Ј3-4m, your role will be to manage London on a day-to-day basis plus to oversee the regional project management teams. ( Travel nationally will therefore be required within this role).
Purpose of the Job Overall control and management of London project Management department. Delivery of minimum risk on time, on budget technical project solutions that exceed Client expectations. Management of internal resources to ensure that a prompt service is supplied to Client requests. Your department in London includes Contract Managers in the following disciplines - Mechanical, Electrical, and Air Conditioning. Tendering against client specification or Consultant brief ensuring that the company`s financial return is upheld. Ensure that technical answer of limited amounts of client to deliver best value solutions. Management of all projects from Ј25,000 to Ј3,000,000 Commercial control of all contracts ensuring that all forms of contract law JCT, schedule of rates, etc) are identified and that compliance is met plus all H&S, CDM requirements are fully established and complied with. Financial accounts are maintained effectively - keeping a close control on WIP, applications for payment, contractual variations are identified and accounted for. etc. Provide support, advice etc for the existing Maintenance Client base.
Key Responsibilities Identify project opportunities and produce professional tender packages Manage delivery of project within agreed budget requirements to maximise profit. Deliver solutions within mutually agreed project plan To identify, reduce and manage all statutory and Commercials risk associated with a project Ensure Client acceptance is adhered in writing, in line with the project plans Mutually agreed payment schedule and applications for payment to be made in line with project plan Ensure compliance with employers project management policies and procedures Provide timely monthly report to the Main Board Director in an agreed format Ensure sub-contractors are closely managed and that all terms and conditions are back to back whenever possible Ensure aged debt is controlled below 45 days Environmental initiatives highlighted to enhance client brands and demonstrate corporate social responsibility.
PERSON SPECIFICATION Education - A good general education is essential, minimum City & Guilds in relevant discipline. Training - Project Management training, to be financially aware & Commercially Astute Experience [Essential] - Has run substantial projects in the same or related industry Has compiled, delivered, priced and managed projects of a range of project sizes. Preferably Mechanically biased. Experience [Desirable] - A sound industry network of contacts which can contribute to best practice. Aptitudes - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Numerate and computer literate.
Character Excellent influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity. Has vision, and able to communicate this effectively. A role model for customer service excellence. Analytical Creative Able to contribute effectively across all business activities. Politically astute. Incumbents must have a high level of energy, be self- starters, confident and stable in manner. Salary Ј45,000 - 50,000 pa. Hours 40 per week Core Working Time Incumbent must be able to work outside core hours, as necessary to meet job requirements Overtime This position does not attract overtime payments.
